The Primary Division classes offered by the Colorado Ballet are a great way to introduce your little one to the fundamentals of dance. Every year, the Colorado Ballet offers a carefully designed program of techniques, points, variations, pas de deux, pilates, progressive ballet technique, strength training, contemporary, modern, allegro masculine repertoire and much more for dancers of all ages and stages. The Littleton Youth Ballet is Littleton's only non-profit youth ballet company and each year they put on a performance featuring more than 140 children, pre-professional dancers and guest artists. Students participating in the performance take several ballet classes every day to perfect their work in Ballet, Pointe, and Variations.
Christina is a professional dancer with 14 years of experience performing with the Chicago Ballet, the Tucson Ballet, the San Diego Ballet, the Nevada Dance Theater, and the Colorado Ballet. She has also taught at schools affiliated with these companies as well as being a guest teacher in Vermont, California, New Mexico and Colorado. The Nutcracker is a popular ballet performance that features talented young students from the Classical Ballet Academy performing alongside trained professionals from Melange Ballet and other companies. The MCB School Ensemble performs in the MCB's exclusive educational and outreach program called Ballet for Young People as well as other special events and public performances at some of South Florida's major performing arts centers such as the Adrienne Arsht Center, the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
The Colorado Ballet presents its seasonal productions at the Ellie Caulkins Opera located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. A solid kinetic methodology predominates in all classes based on the principles of physics and the belief that ballet is a natural system of movement. The Colorado Ballet's policy is that all people in the theater have one ticket and one seat regardless of age. Students receive additional training on a rotational basis in other disciplines such as jazz, modern art, physical conditioning, Pilates, yoga and the Nashville Ballet repertoire.
